There is no argument that Florida is one of the oddest places in the country. People are surprised when I tell them that I was born in Florida and not in Texas. However, having lived half of my life, I believe it to be my own personal heaven on earth. Here are a few telltale signs you grew up in the sunshine state.
1. We had hurricane days instead of snow days.
2. Seeing an alligator a few feet away from you was natural.
3. Publix subs are the best!
4. The beach was only 10-15 minutes away.
5. The closet had more swimsuits than regular clothes.
6. Getting ready for the day was useless, as the humidity was your enemy.
7. 8th street was basically our own time square.
8. When the weather would get under 75 degrees winter coats would be brought out.
9. Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and The Everglades were only a few hours away.
10. I am proud to be a Floridian even if I live in Texas.
