If You Don't Use Groupon Yet, You're Missing Out

Many people have heard of Groupon, but there are still so many people that don’t use it. I started using Groupon about four years ago, when I accidentally stumbled upon the website while looking for coupons. Groupon provides its users with great deals- just what everyone is looking for. The company has both a website and a mobile app to browse deals on. There are so many different kinds of offers available, ranging from local restaurants and activities to all-inclusive vacations.

The “Local” section of the website contains everything in your area. Health & Fitness, Beauty & Spas, Things To Do, Shopping, and Food & Drink are among some of the categories available. I have recently purchased a few Local Groupons, one for hair services, one for a hot yoga class package, and one for an escape room.

At first, I was a little skeptical about using a Groupon for my hair. It clearly stated in the fine print that I would have to tell them I had a Groupon when making an appointment, as well as when arriving. I was worried that I would receive bad service because I wasn’t paying the full price. I decided to be brave and go for it, and turns out it was worth it (the whole $47 I paid for it)! My deal was for a single process color, wash, cut, and blowout at Moxie in Wayne, NJ. The salon had a really cool vibe, and you could tell that the stylists wanted to make sure everyone felt great about the way they look before they leave. I was very pleased with my experience here, and I even plan on coming back to Moxie!

Groupon has so many fun activities in their “Things To Do” category. It is perfect for exploring new things over the summer- and at great prices too! Over the summer I also plan on using my hot yoga class package this summer as well. A friend had told me about the deal, and I couldn’t pass it up. It was $39 dollars for 10 hot yoga classes, which are usually $15 dollars each.

My boyfriend and I have wanted to do one of those escape rooms for a pretty long time now. The other day he was looking through the Groupon app on my phone and found a deal for the Amazing Escape Room in Montclair, NJ. Groupon saves my payment information in my account, so I told him to buy it for us. We haven’t gone yet, but we’re looking forward to going soon.

Another type of offer that is popular on Groupon is their discounted gift cards. These can either be physical gift cards that are mailed to you, coupon codes, or e-gift cards. I’ve purchased a Target e-gift card for $10 that was worth $20. Anyone who knows me well is aware that I basically buy everything at Target, so I put this to use right away. I even treated myself to chocolate covered strawberries when Shari’s Berries offered a $30 voucher for $10. I only paid extra for shipping, and they were delivered to my house the next week.

The two types of Groupons that I have not yet tried are Groupon Goods and Groupon Getaways. The “Goods” section of the website is like a store. They sell electronics, clothes, and toys, for example. I’ve seen an Apple iPhone charger sold for $9, and we all know that they are usually really expensive. Although I have not purchased a Getaway yet, I really hope I do in the future. There are all kinds of vacation deals on there, from hotels to all-inclusive trips with airfare. There are short and long trips for all destinations throughout the world. There are multiple-city trips to Europe for less than $1,500. I just need to find someone to travel with!

I really believe that there is a Groupon for every person and occasion. The prices can’t be beat, and there is no better way to try fun activities than doing it with a Groupon. I hope that more people my age start using Groupon, but if they don’t, then that’s just more money saved and fun for myself. After all, it’s so much better to spend your money on experiences!

I've known you your entire life. More than likely I held you in the first three days of it and at least one of us cried. Cousins are truly one of the best things in the world and while sometimes I complain about how many people crowd Grandma's living room on Christmas Eve, I wouldn't trade you all anything.

You are my best friends, the only people who can understand what it's like on Thanksgiving, and you are the spunkiest people I have ever met. But you as so so young, most of you are just now starting your adventures in the public education system. I mean, I'm so very young too. I'm not married, I don't have children, heck, I just started my adult life, but I do want to give you what little advice I have. My dears, these are the things I want you to know.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.
