Bzzzz... Bzzzz... Bzzzz... Do you ever get tired of group messages? Well I can relate to this feeling. At times I am ready to toss my phone out of the car window or drop it in a tub of water. While group messages are very frustrating, I happen to love one of mine. I love this group message so much because whenever I send a concern or I ask for a favor, my girls never fail me. This message includes my very best friends from last semester at Valdosta State and we use this group message to stay in touch and chip in on small drama issues from each other's lives. I love my cheer besties and I wouldn't change our relationship for anything.

One of the girls is Shayla who is the humorous and spontaneous one. She makes the funniest comments and her short remarks should never be read in a quiet environment because you are sure to make a scene from laughter. I love seeing changing events in her life and some things she could keep to herself but she's very open and does not care what anyone thinks. We all just laugh at her comments most of the time and end up saying "Bye Shayla" or "OMG Shayla, just stop" at least a couple hundred times before the day is over.

Next is Shannon. she is very unique and so happy and bubbly in every way. Shannon shares moments in her life that are far from dry, and because her boyfriend is more country than any of ours, we often see some hilarious "redneckery" moments. I am sitting here laughing at scenarios where all of us begin to comment "What the heck Shannon?" or "Where and what are you even doing there?" I love to talk to Shan. She would definitely be Carmen Diaz's character in "Charlie's Angels."

Following Shannon is Taylor, the super blonde of our group whom we all tend to make jokes about most. I love Taylor because she usually has a smile on her face and, although she may frustrate us with her decision-making at times or the things she says that may seem silly, she will always be our Taylor (I am by no means singling you out Taylor). She was the first veteran I talked to at tryouts when I became a member of the Valdosta State cheer team and I am so thankful I had her during the time of summer workouts. She is a very cool person to chill with too and one person I became very close to before I left at the end of last semester.

Morgan––oh sweet, funny, unexplainable Morgan. While many of you may think I am joking, if anyone gets the butt of jokes it is Mo. Her interesting thoughts and actions land her in the number one spot of attention for our group. Her life is always on the go and things are constantly changing, I mean constantly. Never have I seen someone all over the place and changing their life as often as she does. Morgan is a lot of fun. If you ever get the chance to meet her all you have to say is "You're a good time." Mo makes sure to put her trademark phrase left behind at every stop she makes.

Next is Kennedy, my girl. Oh goodness, where do I start? She's one of the only ones in the group who can relate to my addiction to wanting to be tan. She is still about six shades darker than me, and she has also gone to the beach about five times this summer (which I am very jealous of). Maybe one day I will catch up with you Ken, but until then you will continue to be the most honest person in the group and I am so thankful for the brutal honesty. I find it quite hilarious when you and Shayla put each other in your place because I know in the end you aren't even mad at each other. You both just have strong personalities.

Last but not least, my love Alex. She who was my roommate at first sight, but literally we became roommates at cheer tryouts because neither of us wanted to be paired with a random so we chose each other. I don't even know where to begin with her. She is one of our most talked-about subjects, her life stays pretty interesting, and we all begin to lecture her as if we are her other mom. I truly just adore Alex's personality. She is so upbeat and bright all of the time which I suppose would be the reason why I loved rooming with her so much because we instantly connected as friends without effort.

While all of these people are strangers to you, they were to me as well up until last July when we all stayed in Kennedy, Shannon, and Taylor's apartment house. We all ate dinner together, rode to practice together, sat on the couches packed like sardines, and even found out each other's life stories in two weeks time. I loved the few short months I spent in Valdosta and, frankly, I miss my friends more than anything. I may have seemed like I was singling the girls out, but the truth is all of our different personalities come together as one and make the most interesting and fun times. If anyone were to read some of our conversations, they would probably be concerned as to whether we are okay mentally; in fact we are very much okay, we just love to blurt out any thoughts we may have at any time. Sometimes I want to pull Shayla's hair out but at the end of the day I am thankful for our friendship and the same goes for every girl but Shayla specifically because she gives me the hardest time. I love my group message with my girls and I would not trade what we have for the world because I am able to talk to them at any time for any reason and I know I have their support and love.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
