An Open Letter To Albirght's Orinitation Group 1

This past week, I have had the honor, pleasure, and privlage to be a P.O.P. of my college’s Welcome Weekend. I know what you’re thinking… What in the Lord’s name is a P.O.P. Well, its an acronym for the title Peer Orientation Person. In short, I was an orientation leader. Now this experience was none like no other. I had the time of my life. I enjoyed it even more than I enjoyed orientation when I was a freshman – which I thought was almost impossible. I couldn’t have had the great experience that I did if it wasn’t for the amazing groupies that I had so this … is for you.

To Group 1,

This past week has been absolutely perfect. From theme reveal, to move in day, to the final meal, I have never felt like I was unable to be myself because this group of people was always just so perfect. I can’t tell you how much you have all impacted me in this short time but well, I’m sure as hell gonna try.

You guys are absolutely wonderful. You have been the light of my days (granted it was all of my days but you know what I meant). Seeing you guys let loose and begin to grow and enjoy your time with us as a group made me smile from ear to ear. I can tell you enough how proud and happy I am that you all not only showed up (because that can be hard to achieve sometimes) but you all participated, listened attentively, and were constantly respectful to whoever was presenting. It's as if I was a mom watching over her lil babies and you guys were my lil babies. You made me proud to be my P.O.P. and hope that you are proud to be my groupies.

Our group kicked butt no matter what we did and even though you guys were a tad uncomfortable at first, you eventually were okay with the fact that we were constantly hip thrusting in front of large groups of people. I want you guys to remember that no matter where you go and what you do, there is always someone doing the same thing somewhere so just go for it and live your life. I know it can be hard to just say forget the haters at all times because well, were human, but if you remember anything I have told you this week, I ask that you remember this. No matter what anyone says or what anyone thinks, you are beautiful and you are wonderful and you are uniquely you and that is all that matters.

You guys have given me a new perspective on things which is so weird because I have only known you for less than a week at this point. You are my groupies and I will always be your P.O.P. I will always be here for you whenever you may need or want to talk or just mess around and have some fun. Thank you for being the best groupies that I could have asked for. I hope that your next four years at Albright are great ones.

Love,

K-Dog the illest P.O.P. eva

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

The holiday season is full of stress, debt, and forced conversation. While we rush through the month of December, it's important to take a step back and enjoy the moments before they're gone. Most families love to watch Christmas movies, but these beloved films provide more than entertainment. Here are 10 life lessons that I've learned from the holiday classics we watch every year.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

From sea to shining sea, the United States was uniquely positioned for an incredible Aurora Borealis display on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, going into Friday, Oct. 11.

It was the second time this year after an historic geomagnetic storm in May 2024. Those Northern Lights were visible in Europe and North America, just like this latest rendition.
