I'm sure you all over read Dr. Seuss' "How The Grinch Stole Christmas," as well as the live action film that debuted in 2000. Most of us have seen the movie, and I believe we can all agree that Jim Carrey's portrayal of the title character was pretty dang brilliant. Rather than the grumpy, furry Scrooge in the book, the film wrote the Grinch as being a green, lovable introvert. Here's a list of reasons why the Grinch is a boss and basically me.
1. He accurately described what we all do while looking through our high school yearbook.
We all have those people.
2. He voiced one of the biggest first world problem of all.
SAME.
3. He knew when it was necessary to leave the house.
GiphyAfter at least four hours of Netflix and chill...
4. He was humble when it counted.
After you, peasant.
5. He taught us we can't go out without the perfect outfit.
Nope.
6. He experienced first hand that people could be cruel.
"It's because I'm green, isn't it?!"
7. He was so blunt, it hurt.
Well dang.
9. He was the first to experience the dreaded feels.
IT HURTS.
10. He knew that healthy food was a big no-no.
Forget the Who pudding. Get that roast beast!
11. He taught us how to love properly.
" Oh Max. I love ya!"
12. He had no shame. None.
"You're as cuddly as a cactus, you're as charming as an eel, Mr. Grinch."
13. He knew the pain of unwanted, embarrassing memories.
"Max! Fetch me my sedative!"
14. Did I mention his experience with the feels?
"And they say his heart grew three sizes that day."
15. He expressed both the joy and dread of Christmas.
It's both exciting and painful.
16. He knew how irritating people could be.
This is literally me when someone is whining about something so stupid.
17. He taught us it's okay to cry.
"I'm all...toasty inside."
18. He taught us to prioritize.
"Solve world hunger. Tell no one."
19. He showed us to finish everything with grace.
"I'm number one! I'm number one!"
20. He expressed the disdain of getting ugly clothes for Christmas.
Especially the clothes your relatives get you... *shudder*
21. Speaking of Christmas, his description of its music was on point.
I love it, yet despise it.
22. He was a softie underneath that green fur and spite, just like you and I.
We're all good people on the inside. Don't let our outer grinches fool you.
23. He was all of us when we declared we were going to shed some pounds.
"Yes! Down a size and a half!"
24. And lastly, he told us the sad truth about children.
"How dare you enter The Grinch's lair?!"
Just like Mr. Grinch, don't touch me with a thirty nine and a half foot pole!
