Since 2005, the show Grey's Anatomy has been reeling in viewers with their intense drama and gruesome hospital scenes. The main star Ellen Pompeo, better known as the one and only Meredith Grey is infamous for getting herself into some real sticky situations with her colleagues. Only people who have followed the show really have a grasp on how insane it all is. Here are a few things about Grey's Anatomy that only the true followers understand.
1. It wasn't until this show that you started to have a "person".
As perfectly displayed by Meredith's and Christina's friendship, a person is someone who has to be there for you no matter how much they hate you or however high the chances of being arrested are. They're there for you even when they don't want to be. It is because of these two that we all hope to someday find our very own person.
2. Everyone on the show seems to be related through sex.
Everyone's slept with Callie. Everyone's slept with Mark Sloan and everyone has slept with Alex Karev. After some careful calculations, everyone can conclude that the entire show is related through sex.
3. Meredith Grey has the worst luck with family.
I understand it can be kind of hard learning about new relatives every other week because they all seem to end up at the same hospital. Seattle Grace hospital is like the Grey family meeting grounds.
4. Meredith has the best #squad around.
Somehow, no matter who comes on the show, they're all on Meredith's side. She could kill someone and every person in that hospital would jump up to help her hide the body. She is seriously the most well-liked person on the show and I know I definitely wouldn't want to be on her bad side because she literally has an army.
5. You quickly learn to not become attached to anyone.
As soon as you fall for a character and start rooting for someone, they go and get killed or just leave the show. It becomes really hard to become attached to anything ever again after watching this show.
6. We start thinking that we can be surgeons.
I've watched Christina Yang do a thoracotomy heart thingy like a million times. And I know when in doubt, push one of epi. Put me in OR 1 stat!
7. Happiness isn't actually a thing.
Not one person in this show is happy for longer than like, half an episode. Everything good is immediately followed by something bad so why don't we all just take this as a sign that happiness does not exist. We will all be dark and twisty.
8. We all strive to have Callie's level of confidence and sex appeal.
Callie Torres from the start was a total bad ass. She said what she needed to and she didn't take anyone's put downs. She is so confident that it makes her sexy. If you don't already strive to be someone, you should strive to be Callie (minus the cheating husbands and wives).
9. Meredith Grey has had the worst things happen to her.
Meredith always seems to be in harms way and not always intentionally. Sure, she did shove her hand into a bomb filled body cavity but what about the plane, gunman, and guy pushing her into the water where she almost drowned? She didn't cause those.
10. Relationships are crazy.
Why do all the relationships in this show seem to be so dysfunctional? And don't you dare say it's just because it gets better viewings, there has to be some truth behind it. Are all people miserable whether in or even out of a relationship? Again, happiness is a lie.
11. In the end, when all else fails, dance it out.
Meredith and Christina always danced it out when they were stressed or just in a weird situation. I will definitely take this into my life. But fair warning; I will look like a dying creature when I dance. Leave me alone.
