I went to a small private high school where everyone mainly thought one way. There was hardly any opposing views and if someone had one, they didn't voice it. Going into college I had a very narrow view on the world. I saw things very black and white.
Now about to graduate my views have changed and I have come to the realization the world is very grey. There is no absolute wrong or right.
There are millions upon millions of ways to solve problems. There are millions of views on millions of topics. There is no right or wrong way to figuring out the world around us. Some of the best solutions to problems have been a combination of two opposing opinions.
The only thing I don't agree with is forcing your ideas/beliefs on someone. This goes for both sides of any topic. You aren't going to change someone's mind/ views calling names or sharing hate. You are just making them more defensive and uncomfortable.
Responding to an opposing view with respect will take you miles beyond than just saying they are wrong. In today's time of hate, why do you want to start more anger and diversity? Why not open your mind to more ideas than just your own? Now, sometimes the people who preach that they are open-minded are usually just open to opinions matching their own.
I'm not saying stop standing up for what you truly believe in, but never think that is the only way. There are so many great things in this world that have come from diverse groups filled with many different opinions and beliefs. In business, they teach the more diverse the group is the better the outcome and solutions are.
Overall what I want you to take from this is, there is no absolute right and no absolute wrong. Everything is not black and white. Stop the hate and start respecting others who you don't agree with. The world needs respect more than it needs opinions.
