We survived finals week! But exams are over.... now what? We get the chance to just sit back and relax for five glorious weeks. While many of us will be working to make money for next semester or sitting on the couch and binge watching their favorite shows on Netflix, we also need to enjoy the holidays while they are here. Don't have any ideas of what to do in Greenville this Christmas? Well, here are eight things you might enjoy.

1. Christmas Lights

While this one may seem cliché, there are actually many spectacular light shows in Greenville. Below are some really great places to check out the lights:

Roper Mountain Science Center

Butler Station (Shearbrook Drive, Mauldin, South Carolina)

2. Ice Skating

Whether you want to take your significant other on a date or you and your friends just want to go out, ice skating will be fun for all. Ice on Main in Downtown Greenville is a great place to go. You can even stop by Coffee Underground for some coffee and desert afterwards.

3. Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread house

Up for a little drive? Check out the Grove Park Inn's gingerbread houses! The competition happens annually and the gingerbread houses on display are pretty spectacular. Definitely worth the drive to Asheville, North Carolina.

4. Carriage Ride

Want the chance to snuggle with your significant other on a carriage ride? Fountain Inn's Spirit of Christmas Past Festival will feature carriage rides, a scavenger hunt and ice skating.

5. Go see a Play

Greenville has a great theater community and there are several places to see a play from Greenville Little Theater to The Peace Center. The Warehouse Theatre is putting on "Christmas on the Rocks" which is sure to be good.

6. Holiday Art Show

If you're looking for a unique gift for someone the Holiday Art Show and Sale at The Arts Center of Clemson is a great place to find one. The show features several pieces of arts and various crafts from local artists and craftsmen.

7. Take a Picture with Santa

Want to let your inner child out? The Haywood Mall has a really nice set up to take a picture with Santa. You can even get some of your Christmas shopping done while you''re there!

8. Festival of Trees

The Hyatt Regency Downtown and the Courtyard Marriot Downtown host St. Francis' Festival of Trees The trees are decorated beautifully and it may give you some ideas of how to decorate your tree next year!

Ultimately, what is most important about the holidays is spending time with family. Go shopping with your mom, watch the big game with your dad, or go do some of the things listed above with your siblings. But most importantly, enjoy your time away from school!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
