Chris Stockton is a Duncan, OK native. He is a senior, graduating in May with a bachelors degree in finance and a bachelors degree in management. Stockton is a proud member of Phi Gamma Delta and has served his chapter in many ways. He has held numerous roles within his chapter, including serving on the exec board as Historian his sophomore year. “This allowed me to be responsible for all of the rituals and traditions of the fraternity and also coordinate the involvement points system,” Stockton said.
Stockton has also contributed greatly to the Greek community as a whole. He has helped with many philanthropies and also worked with Ival Gregory on some initiatives to better the Greek community.
Stockton has also had the opportunity to be very involved on campus during his four years as a student. “My goal was to not only get involved in opportunities on campus, but also to grow them as much as possible,” Stockton said. He was in Presidents Leadership Council, the coordinator of the Freshmen Representative Council, Student Alumni Board, Student Government Association Senator and Executive, a small group leader for KLife Ministries, and for the past two years he has been the Executive Director for OSU's largest student-philanthropy, Dance Marathon.
Stockton loves sports. He enjoys watching them, playing them, talking about them, and everything in between. He loves to try new kinds of foods and in his spare time he plays a good amount of XBox and reads leadership books. He also loves helping people. “It has become a passion of mine that developed at Oklahoma State. I spend so much time doing philanthropic things because it gives me the opportunity to make an impact in people's lives.”
Stockton loves bragging about people. He attributes all of the success he has been able to see in college to those around him. He loves surrounding himself with smarter, funnier, and more motivated people because that inspires him to be better. Stockton claims that Dance Marathon has seen so much success in a crazy short amount of time because of the team that he has had the opportunity to spend time with everyday. “This is an organization that means so much to me because it benefits the Children's Miracle Network, but even-more-so, because of the people that I have been able to work with and develop friendships with,” Stockton said.
Stockton is excited about Dance Marathon and the people that are changing kids lives everyday. After Stockton graduates, he will move to Houston, TX, as a U.S. Marketing and West Coast Gas Pricing Intern for Phillips 66.
