Greek of the Week: Matt Burke

26

Meet Matt -- a fun-loving, intelligent member of Lambda Chi Alpha. He is in the M.J. Neely School of Business and a member of BNSF Next Generation Leadership Program, but his involvement goes far beyond academics. Matt was actually the former President of Lambda Chi Alpha here at TCU during the 2013-2014 school year. He is the CEO and president of TCU Game Day, a company he co-founded here in Fort Worth. Also, he currently serves as the brand Manager at SFG Finance. He is even part of the Neely Building Users Committee and belongs to the Chancellor’s Committee for the new Neely building that is currently in the works. If that’s not enough to impress you, he was named the TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award Grand Prize winner in February 2011. Burke isn’t all business, though. He enjoys going out to places like Whiskey & Rye or hitting up Thursday night karaoke at The Cellar. Matt’s favorite drink is Johnnie Walker Black Label scotch on ice -- I’m not kidding, ladies. This man is the ultimate bachelor. So if you’re looking to meet Matt, you’ll most likely to find him at Woodshed, his favorite restaurant in Fort Worth.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
