I Am The Greatest!

How Do You Define Greatness?

Spoken by no other than the legendary Muhammad Ali, "I am the Greatest" should be an affirmation we speak over ourselves daily. Greatness is not about how many awards you have hanging on the wall, or trophies or medals you have on display. It's not how many times you've been recognized or received accolades for your achievements. Greatness isn't merely what one achieves or accomplishes in their life time; it's a mindset, a lifestyle. As Ali stated, it's something you say, something you believe, long before you ever know.

"Greatness isn't merely what one achieves or accomplishes in their life time; it's a mindset, a lifestyle."

Greatness is an "I can do, be, and achieve anything," attitude. It washes away fear and knocks down walls built to deter you. It shatters myths and criticism. It strengthens one to look failure in the face and boldly say "not today failure," and when defeat is inevitable, it allows you to hold your head high and say "I will not give up." Greatness is not an arrogance, but a confidence one exudes. It propels one to go after their dreams despite any obstacle or trial they may face.

Greatness is a cloak. Wrap yourself in it every day. Wear it like your brightest lipstick or your favorite fashion piece. Wear it proudly with grace, because it's like a first impression; it's something people see before they even know who you really are.

"Greatness is not an arrogance, but a confidence one exudes."

You don't have to be the best boxer of all time, or number one in all the activities you do. You can be great in your biggest life changing achievements, as well as in the small details of your everyday life. Being of service, being an encouragement to someone, and thinking and living positively is being great.

So what is greatness? Greatness is a belief. When you believe you are great, you are! It's as simple as that, and no one or anything can change that belief!

Speak greatness over your life because you truly are the greatest!

Side Note: I encourage you to begin speaking positively over your life and daily if it's not something you already do! It's something I personally practice and was reminded of not long after Muhammad Ali died last year. His famous saying, 'I Am The Greatest,' is one of the best examples of speaking positive affirmations and putting positive energy into the universe. Speak positivity over your life! Speak your dreams and goals into existence! Speak life into your situations! Do this daily and see the greatest that comes out of life!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
