The town of Fairfield has so many amazing places to eat with a variety of options depending on what you are looking to enjoy. Most of the options below are college budget friendly, while a few are for splurge nights.
No matter what you get at these places, you can’t go wrong in my mind. We all need a break from dining hall food at some point, so check out one of these places next time that you go into town!
1. Colony Grill
Colony Grill is the perfect place to go to when you are craving great pizza. The menu is simple: pizza. My favorite pizza to get there is their salad pizza. It has lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots that is dressed in a light vinaigrette served over Colony’s classic cheese pizza. I would never have thought to put salad on my pizza, but it is a must-try!
2. B.good
B.good is my go-to when I am looking for a healthy lunch or dinner, especially during the week when I need a quick and easy meal. My favorite is the Apple and Bacon bowl with kale and quinoa. I know kale and quinoa sounds almost too healthy, but the bacon adds flavor and there is a lot of avocado in the bowl as well (which I know that I can never pass up). The Kale Smoothies are also great if you’re looking for something quick to pick up while shopping or doing homework in town.
3. Firehouse Deli
Firehouse is a perfect post-beach day place to stop by to get amazing sandwiches. A favorite sandwich of mine is the Redgate with grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, jack cheese and basil mayo. There is also a large salad bar with fresh vegetables and proteins to make the perfect salad.
4. Quattro Pazzi
When I am craving Italian food, there is nowhere else in Downtown Fairfield that I would go to other than Quattro Pazzi. It is a little on the expensive side, especially if you get a salad to start, but it is totally worth the extra expense. I always order the avocado salad to start (you can really see how much I love avocados now) and a pasta dish for my main meal. Two of my favorite pasta dishes are Lemon Tagliatelle with Shrimp and House Made Gnocchi Bolognese.
5. Shearwater Coffee Bar
Shearwater Coffee Bar just opened in the last few months and is now my new favorite place to go and have a cup of coffee or tea at while doing homework or hanging out with friends. They also have a selection of pastries and desserts to choose from that go perfect with your coffee or tea.
6. Milkcraft
Milkcraft is in its own category when it comes to ice cream. There are about 10-15 unique flavors offered and the best way to enjoy your ice cream is in a Bubble Waffle cone. It is a freshly made waffle that is formed into a cone and cooled, before being the perfect holder for your ice cream. The ice cream is made with liquid nitrogen and aside from being delicious, it is the perfect food to photograph. When you go to Milkcraft, it is both for the ice cream and the experience of watching your ice cream be created for you to enjoy.
