Global climate change has been on people's radars quite a bit in the past few years. Pollution is no joke and things have been getting bad. Plants and animals are dying at the expense of human carelessness, and this is not something that should be overlooked.
The Great Barrier Reef, a.k.a. the largest living thing on Earth is no longer repairing itself as it should. The human carelessness that has been hurting the planet for years has now effectively killed this natural wonder. Scientists have pronounced the reef dead seeing the amount it has succumbed to coral bleaching. The Great Barrier Reef is not only a home to thousands of fish and other aquatic animals, but it is also an organism itself. Humans have killed another living things and taken away a home that was such a staple to aquatic life in this part of the sea.
We, as humans, should be appalled. The amount of pollution and mistreatment of our environment that it takes to kill such a large organism is astronomical. The effect that humans have on the planet is no longer able to be ignored because it is causing such drastic and irreversible consequences on our environment. Humankind as a whole needs to start showing more respect for this planet that we call home.
