Dear Mom And Dad, I Am So Grateful
Michal Pechardo

Dear mom and dad,

First, thank you. Thank you for loving me and pushing me to always do my best. Thank you for challenging me and supporting my dreams and goals. Thank you for trusting me and thank you for raising me the way you did. Thank you for showing me what it’s like to work hard for what you want and to never give up. Thank you.

In my last three years away in college, I’ve realized how truly blessed I am with great parents, who have done all they can for their children. I’m very grateful for that. You two are always bragging about me, so here is my way of bragging about you.

Mom, I am so grateful you taught me the importance of service and giving all you can to those in need. This trait of yours is something I think about often, especially as a leader. I can’t tell you how often people tell me I do too much for others because when I think about how much you do for your family and others, what I do isn’t comparable. I hope to be more like you.

Dad, you’re one of the most hard-working individuals I know. You’ve set an example that hard work matters and it pays off, and that’s one of the most useful things I’ve been taught in life. I remember you working all day while going back to school, and still making dinner because you love to cook. Without knowing it, you taught me balance and the importance of doing what needs to be done while still doing what you love.

I’m very fortunate to have two parents support the decisions I’ve made. Whether it was to move away for college, be a summer camp counselor in Washington, lay on a beach in Mexico or plan to study abroad, I know the two of you support me and are always there to help me reach my dreams. Thank you.

I’ve learned so much from you two; I owe a lot of who I am to how you raised me and my siblings. I know I acted like I knew everything growing up, was a picky eater and did too many cartwheels in the house, but I’m grateful for the love and example you two provide us. I’m grateful you’re my parents and I love you both a lot. Thank you for dealing with me and being my number one fans.

Thank you, mom and dad.

Xoxo

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
