Dear Mum,
Thank you for being the best grandmother ever. From the time I was a small child to now, your house is my favorite place to be. You have such a calming aura, so coming to your house after a stressful week or semester at school instantly makes me feel better. The feeling of Grandma's house cannot ever compare to anywhere else in the entire world. And even at 20 years old, the words "Mum's coming with us" makes my heart light up.
From all of our baking messes, to sleepovers at your house, to putting puzzles together with you, to you making me mac and cheese and your special slightly burnt pancakes on your iron skillet, I cherish every single moment I've ever had with you, and I will continue to cherish them forever.
My favorite thing you used to do (and still do) is sign all your cards to me with a bunch of x's and o's.
I remember getting you a Snowbaby every single Christmas. I specifically remember getting you the one on the telephone, because talking to you on the phone was my favorite thing to do besides being at your house.
I guess I owe you a thank you for not getting sick (or you were really good at hiding it) of me wanting to watch Heidi, Babe, or The Sound of Music every time I came over.
I love how proud you are of me for every little thing I do. Nothing is better than hearing your grandma say how proud she is of you.
I will always remember how I somehow magically listened to you, but not Mom. I guess hearing the words "Katarina, you're not being a good girl," made me realize how important it was to listen and be a good kid. Those words have echoed in my ears for years, and it's safe to say that they shaped me into the woman I am today. A lot of what I do, I model after what you would do.
You are truly the sweetest and most patient woman to ever live, and I can only strive to be half the woman you are. Thank you for showing me how to live, and thank you for blessing my life with your infinite love.
Love,
Your favorite grandchild xoxoxo
