Grand Theft Auto IV Is, To My Best Guess, What A Dream Coming True Actually Feels Like

It's truly one of my all-time favorite games.

I recently played through "Grand Theft Auto IV" again and it is still one of my all time favorite games. The story, the physics, and the expansions. I absolutely love this game, it made my top 5 favorite game list of all time.

The game follows Niko Bellic, an immigrant from Eastern Europe coming to America to seek a better life and visit his cousin. From there, he becomes one of the F.I.B (F.B.I) most wanted yet trusted operatives (It's complicated). Niko goes through hell, he angers the Russian mob, the Italian mob and many other people throughout. The games expansions follow Johnny Klebitz(The Lost and Damned), a member of a biker gang who is trying to keep his chapter together while also getting tangled in with the events of the main story. The next expansion follows Luis Lopez (The Ballad of Gay Tony), a nightclub co-owner/security who also gets tangled up in the events of the main story. That is for another article

The graphics in this game are a little dated, but still get the job done considering at the time this was one of the best looking games on the market. The dents on cars still look insanely realistic, possibly better than 2013's "Grand Theft Auto V". Some characters tend to look a little funny compared to how they look now, but none the less it is still impressive for being 10 years old this past April. The city looks fantastic, especially when the sun is setting and it is reflecting off the buildings, it's beautiful.

The Physics in this game are great, the car handling feels real and the accidents you can get in are insane. I was playing a few weeks ago and I sped around a corner really fast and my car did about 10 flips and doors were flying off, it was insane. That is something that you can't see in "Grand Theft Auto V" where when you get into a crash you can just flip the joystick a certain way be on your wheels again.

Finally, the story, the story is insanely dark and realistic. It feels like a drama, the issues, the relationships, it all feels so real. You actually get attached to characters. And how the story weaves in and out of the expansions is phenomenal. Niko is such a tragic character, he is a great person but he is forced to do these messed up things for his bosses and the Federal Investigation Bureau. Sometimes, he would even have to kill people that treated him great, all because a higher power was demanding it. He was essentially a hitman. The game could also be a commentary on how this country treats immigrants since throughout the game some characters mock Niko for being an immigrant and tend to say offensive things.

Overall, This game is phenomenal and it is a must play, even though it is old.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
