The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, which is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. It is the brainchild of the late president Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who wanted to build a monument that exemplified the cultural diversity of the Islamic world and bring together historical and modern styles of art and architecture. It also happens to be the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and took 11 years to build. The building area measures approximately 30 acres and has an attendance of about 41000 people during the festival of Eid.
