Graham Allen, I support you.

As for Instagram, you should be ashamed.

Graham Allen, I support you.
Graham Allen

I believe in the red, white, and blue. I believe in our country and I believe in for which our nation stands.

And to those of you in charge of Instagram, I am absolutely ashamed of you.

There are men and women all over posting inappropriate pictures and nude photos and illegal activity and you do NOTHING about it. Someone writes a song and dances on our beloved flag that stands for the unity of a diverse people, and it goes viral on all networking and media. Then an over-privileged, overpaid football player gets his ego stroked a little too much and thinks it's okay to disrespect the very country that made him everything he is; and he is glorified for it? You allow photos honoring him, and you allow him to make a stand in the direction of terrorism. Then a brave man who risked his own life with his wife and daughter to fight for this country posts a pro-American post on his personal Instagram and you dare ban him?

Here is a little message to Colin Kaepernick: if you don't like our country, get out. If you dare sit during the one song with the sole purpose to unify all Americans despite differences and current events, then I will personally pay for your ticket to leave. You will not make half, even a quarter of what you do here throwing a ball than anywhere else so good luck. You are not worth my time, and I will not post anything associated with you because I will not partake in making you famous out of your own fear of becoming a washed-up athlete broke and forgotten.

To Graham Allen specifically, thank you. I am a big fan of your pages and videos and I appreciate everything you have sacrificed in order to make this country safer. Your posts are one thing I enjoy to scroll through after slides and slides of negativity and politics and anger. You have taken your past making America great, and you are still making small steps to improve it even more than you have already. It may be small, but those little bits of positive sayings and laughter go a long way. After the shadow that Instagram has cast upon you, I hope you remember that you have a whole fan base that stands behind you, and your actions have not gone unnoticed. Thank you for being brave enough to stand up for what's right even when everyone else tells you otherwise.

To everyone else, please give me feedback. This needs to be talked about and we need an uproar. I am sick of feeling scared to stand up for the right thing and I will never be silenced. People like Colin Kaepernick should not be allowed to influence as many people as he did and I hope the rest see that, that is exactly what's wrong with our country. Never stop believing in this land because it's the only freedom we have, and it wasn't free. Thank you for reading, and God bless.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
