Here is a list of all the things to do at ASU before graduation day arrives!

1. Dip your feet into the Old Main fountain

Have a photo shoot! Another place to have a photo shoot is in front of the Discovery Building and the Art section of the campus.

2. Hike A Mountain

Please don't graduate if you haven't been to the top.

3. Head over to Mill Ave.

A tradition for every 21+ year old.

4. Visit the top of Manzanita housing

Maybe even watch a football game from up there!

5. Go to a football game against U of A

The rivalry goes on!

6. Go to a tailgate!

7. Eat at Barrett dining and sit in the Harry Potter hall

8. Meet Michael Phelps

He works at ASU and many people have spotted him around the campus

9. Rent out the Vista Theatre and watch a movie

For every student who lived at Vista, this is a must do.

10. Go to an event put on by your CA

They work really hard!

11. Use the gym

It's in your tuition

12. Pull an all nighter

13. Rent a book out from Hayden

14. Join a lab / research

ASU hires some of the coolest professors around. Some of them have been to space. Others have multiple publications. Some are famous published writers.

15. Go to someone's office hours and get to know them

The professors at ASU are a hit or miss when it comes to teaching. However, these individuals are amazing and have wonderful life stories and careers that could really enlighten your knowledge of the world and help further your own. Get to know your teachers. They could also write stellar letters of recommendation.

16. Watch a play at Gammage

Sometimes the fees are reduced so go, go, go, go!

17. Go to a basketball game

They give out free shirts and so on so go get your tuition's worth.

18. Camp outside for Camp Fargo

It's a tradition and a great way to meet new people.

19. Visit the ASU Art Museum

It took me almost three years to go there. But, they have wonderful events such as "Escape the Museum" where the winners can win food and prizes.

20. Visit the Space Museum

They have super cool monthly events to encourage STEM education.

21. Visit a different campus.

ASU has many different campuses - each with a unique characteristic or unique activities. Visit another campus and see how life over there is. Downtown ASU is nearby the street known for 'First Friday'. It is also in the center of downtown Phoenix and quite nearby to some wonderful coffee shops and concert stadiums.

22. Go to an ASU concert.

ASU sponsors a concert every semester. Watch out and book your admission tickets.

23. Sit and eat with a random stranger

Welcome week of college is also a perfect time to make new friends. So sit with a random stranger and get to know them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
