Dear high school senior,
I know you’re a little bit scared, a little bit nervous, and a lot excited about starting this new part of your life. College isn’t anything like high school. It’s better, and I’m here to tell you to make the most of the next four or so years regardless of where you end up.
It’s okay to not know what you want to do yet, and it’s okay to later change your mind. It’s also okay if you decide college isn’t for you. The next few years are about learning about the world and making mistakes; it’s about trying new things, making new friends, and having fun while you’re at it. It’s about gaining your independence like losing your training wheels.
You’ve got some big milestones coming up—your first time on your own, first big job, first time making big decisions on your own, and learning that being an adult is about responsibility and learning from your mistakes.
You’re on your way to big things. You just need to take a deep breath, place one foot in front of the other and believe in yourself. I certainly believe in you!
Sincerely,
An inexperienced adult
