For me, leaving high school was a difficult thing to do, emotionally speaking. And sometimes, I still somehow wish that I was still there. The majority of you are glad that you will be out there in this “open” world. However, there are a few others who don’t feel so ready to leave yet.
You see, those high school walls gave you a home for four years. You grew up with all these different people who had different stories about who they were, yet somehow, you related to them and new friendships evolved from that.Sometimes, it didn’t really matter if you were in a club or not because your friends soon enough became your family.
For all those four years, you knew your routine and no matter where you went, you had a place to sit and your teachers had their doors open for you to talk with them, you won’t necessarily have that once you leave high school.
Also, in high school, the smallest problems in your life, such as love problems or friendship dilemmas, seemed the biggest. For the most part, all your high school career, you were taught English, science, history, and math, so when you went seeking for help on these previously mentioned problems, your teachers might have given you a response like, “it’s just high school.” In reality, these things somehow managed to follow you after high school because you are human and all these problems will continue to throw themselves at you .
Before you graduate, ask your teachers for one last lesson in life, not whatever subject they teach. See how much you have hanged. High school changes you in really amazing ways. Before you get your diploma, take a look at what your mark has been in high school, what are you leaving behind?
It’s ok to be scared of change. High school will follow you in your heart for as long as you want to remember it. You are blessed and will do amazing in life.
