Why listen to funk? Because it's funky! The party music of yesteryear is the jam music of today. Next time you're chilling with your buddies, throw on one of these legends and the funk will take care of you.

The funk can't be lost to time, we need a revival! Funk it up, everybody!

1. Syl Johnson, "Miss Fine Brown Frame." As far as jamming out goes, this song will make you feel that type of way. From the intro bass line to the harmonies at the end, good ol' Syl will make you disco until tomorrow.

2. Bobby Womack, "Across 110th Street." Showing a lighter side, Bobby Womack will make you fall in love with his Motown style lyricism. Good luck changing the song.

3. Labi Siffre, "I Got The..." Combining that ever vibing bass with orchestra harmonies, Labi Siffre puts out a jam you can't miss. He's got the... funk.

4. James Brown, "Superbad." Classic funk-errific, James Brown. That's all I have to say.

5. The Bar-Kays, "Too Hot To Stop." The famed intro brings it hard in this funk-tastic song. Known as the pioneers of funk, the Bar-Kays are too hot to stop.

Bring back the funk!
