In one of the ultimate cliffhangers of all time, we had to watch the Night King destroy the wall with the help of his undead dragon and allow his entire army of White Walkers march through. Also Jon Snow and Daenerys finally got engaged, which we learned that they are indeed related. It was a wild end to season 7 and we only had to wait almost two years to find out what happens next!
Finally, it seems we are on the homestretch of this wait as numerous actors from the show have confirmed that filming is complete and HBO announced that season 8 is set to debut in the first half of 2019. I know the wait will be worth it as all 6 episodes for season 8 will be feature length, and the show hasn't let us down yet! So let's get into my prediction.
Jon Snow is adamant that the Night King and his army are the only enemies that matter in an attempt to join forces with Cersei hoping she will understand the danger of the incoming attack. This leads me to believe that his focus will be on the Night King this season and probably will not ever cross paths with Cersei again. Instead, as Cersei is sure to undermine the cause in some way so she will be dealt with by Arya.
Cersei is still on Arya's list, so she will go to Kings Landing with the Hound where he will engage with his brother in a fight to the death. Tyrion and Cersei also had a closed-door meeting where we're not sure what was discussed. I think that Tyrion is in cahoots with Arya and pretending to conspire with Cersei one last time. Now close to the Queen, Tyrion will take the opportunity to let Ned Stark to kill her. In Cersei's last dying moments, Arya will peel off her fathers mask to reveal herself to the Queen who took everything from her. Tyrion will now sit on the throne as Arya heads north to join the epic battle.
In this battle, the only possibility for victory is to kill the Night King. Jon Snow has now been revealed to us as a Targaryen. Jon is primed to slay the Night King due to his possession of Longclaw, a sword capable of doing the deed, and his ability to ride a dragon and get close to the Night King. As he dodges, the ice javelins thrown by the Night King in an epic falcon dive. Finally one connects and he is thrown off the dragon right at the Night King plunging his sword through his chest and saving Westeros from the impending doom. Unfortunately, the Night King also stabbed Jon in this exchange so he will die here as well.
Overwhelmed by the loss of Jon and another one of her dragons, Daenerys is primed to have the mental breakdown her family is known for and burn everything until she is in control. This won't last long however as she will eventually die giving birth to the baby she was supposed to have with Jon. In typical GOT fashion, everyone near and dear to our hearts will probably die but at least it will be in an epic way.
