If you asked me what my New Year's resolution was for last year, I literally would not be able to tell you. That's because somewhere mid January I gave up on it after I realized it was not something I cared enough to turn around in my life. This year, one of my resolutions is to drink more tea because I really love tea and it has many health benefits. After realizing that there are steps I can take to make sure by this December I remember and have accomplished my tea drinking goal I figured I would share them with you. So here are 13 ways you can accomplish your New Year's resolution this year.

1. Set monthly goals

Try and break down your large goal into smaller more attainable goals each month.

2. Ask a friend to do it with you

Things are better when you know someone else is going through the same thing as you.

3. Tell your goal to a friend

For when your friend says they won't do it with you, make them hold you accountable to it and support you.

4. Put it on your calendar

If you already add your resolution to each month in your planner you will see it every time you open it and be more motivated to do it.

5. Give your self "off weeks"

Realistically, you will not hold up your resolution each and every week so when you take an off week, make sure that you plan to get back at it for the next week.

6. Make your goal measurable

If you can't measure your goal, then what are you actually working towards.

7. Make your goal reachable

Do not set your goal to be impossible. Maybe set a small goal you know you will reach and if you reach it before the year ends, expand your goal.

8. Make it a habit

Habits usually form in 21 days, so if you do your behavior for 21 days you'll be able to stick to it.

9. Don't set your goal in stone

If your goal changes throughout the year, that is okay so don't stress too much.

10. Make it a priority

If you make it a priority then it will be among the things you think about and work towards every day.

11. Make your goal specific

Don't just say I want to go more places. Set a few places you want to go and plan when you want to go.

12. Ask for help

If you don't know how to go about your goal, go find someone who does and I know they will be more than happy to help you make it happen.

13. Make sure it makes you happy

If it isn't something you're going to enjoy doing, why do it at all?

Resolutions aren't an easy thing to set and then stick to for anyone. If by December you at least remember your resolution and stuck to it for a while I would say that is pretty good and there is no where to go but up from that. Good luck and go achieve your resolutions!

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
