A Goodbye To Sophomore Year

How am I already halfway done with college?

A Goodbye To Sophomore Year
Alex Becker

They always say that these four years will fly by fast, and they weren't wrong. How am I already half way done with college? The reality of it is really beginning to sink in. School has gotten harder and reality has begun to set in. You showed me that college isn't just for parties and goofing off, you've got to work hard too. Classes got harder, the work load got bigger and the responsibilities were piled on. I made a bunch of new friends, lost some and got even closer to the ones I already had.

You showed me that I don't need to hang onto friends that don't share common interests with me or that bring me down, it's all about having people in your life that will better you as a human being. You taught me to save the drama for my mama and to keep things positive at all times. I thank you for that because we can not get these years of our lives back so we really need to appreciate it all and make the most of it. Thank you for bringing so many new experiences and life lesson into my life. Like the fact that I can't eat ice cream every day, even though dining hall lettuce can be scary sometimes, I've got to eat healthy. Especially the motivation to go to the gym and use the things we have accessible to us at all times, don't pass up on that "free" gym membership. Thank you for bringing me into a different dorm space, with different peers around me. New people, new experiences, new stories to be heard, it's all so great.

Thanks to you sophomore year. It's been a great year and I hope I can make it through finals week. I learned that we don't get these years back so I've joined every on campus clubs I can, I meet as many people as I can and I have a blast while doing it. Junior year here I come!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
