I don't know about you, but when I think of MTV I always associate that channel with shows like "Punk'd," "The Real World," and "TRL." I always thought of MTV as the hub of reality television. So back in 2011 when they announced a new show called "Teen Wolf" that wasn't reality based, I thought that there was no way could this be any good.
Plus, this was still around the time when the whole vampire and werewolf craze was going around and I wasn't having any of it. In my mind, MTV plus werewolf didn't really add up to being my cup of tea.
Then one day I was at a friend's house, a friend who regularly watched "Teen Wolf" and that night just happened to be a night where a new episode was airing, so since I didn't have anything better to do, I sat down on her couch and watched with her.
I found it kind of interesting but since it was well into the first (or maybe even second) season, I had no clue what was going on. So again, I dismissed it.
Then about two or three summers ago, I had a weird moment where I guess I was just bored and decided to start binge watching a new show. Can you guess the show I picked?
I think by the time I decided to start Season 1, they were already on the verge of ending Season 3 (Void Stiles anyone?) and there's about 20 episodes for every season, so I had some catching up to do.
I could not stop watching this show, to the point where I voluntarily stayed in on multiple, beautiful, summer days to sit in my room and stare at my computer screen watching episode after episode, one after the other. I'm also pretty sure I had some late nights watching this show as well.
The show isn't sappy, it doesn't have cringe-worthy special effects, it has dimensional (and kick-ass) characters, and amazing plot lines that keep twisting and turning and definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.
I also like how each season has a different theme (as in a different battle to overcome), but still keeps the underlying plot line and characters.
When I had finally caught up, it was just in time to catch their Comic Con panel in San Diego (online of course). That's the kind of stuff I love. I love hearing what the actors have to say about their characters they play and I love to hear the creative minds behind the show's story and how it came to be.
Not to mention, the "Teen Wolf" cast is full of awesome, talented, caring, funny, young and old, actors and actresses that make you fall in love with the show even more.
MTV also did a "Teen Wolf After Show" and then continued with an "After After Show" to let the audience delve even more into behind the scenes stuff and the cast's thoughts for each episode.
You better believe I was hyped to continue watching when the next season rolled around. However, all good things must come to an end, so at the 2016 Comic Con panel for "Teen Wolf," they announced that Season 6 would be their last season ending with 100 episodes.
As I had evolved into a hardcore fan at this point, I was super disappointed that it was ending.
However, hearing the creator's thoughts about the ending of the show gave me some closure because he, along with the rest of the cast (who were sad of course, but) were actually really happy and thankful that they had even made it this far with the show and they were extremely pleased with how everything turned out.
This made me happy knowing that they were satisfied in their work.
I'm definitely going to miss this show and it's incredible cast but it feels like they're going out with a bang (by the looks of all the trailers and teasers) and I couldn't be happier.
If you're even a little bit intrigued (and have nothing to do and have a craving to binge watch a show) then I highly suggest you check out "Teen Wolf." It's no where near a cliche werewolf story. The plot twists are incredible and it's definitely action packed.
Season 6, the last season, airs Tuesday, November 15 at 9/8c. Something evil is coming. Don't miss it! #RememberStiles
