So, the semester is ending. Finally, that two-year contract is up and you can move off campus. Or, your one year contract.

Either way, it's bag packing time. Home for the summer, and then back again. Only instead of paying a semester rate, we have monthly rent.

We have to make our own food- and buy it. No more paying $10 to do all of your laundry because the washer is tiny and you have to do three loads to wash all of those clothes.

But for now, it's time to say Goodbye.

1. Goodbye food I can buy with my student ID.

-Seriously, I'll miss the easy access. BUT I won't miss someone messing up my food, not knowing how to not make a messy sandwich, the hard gluten free bread, and the 20 years it takes to make my food.

2. Goodbye spare keys when I lock myself out.

-What the hell am I gonna do when I lock my keys in my apartment?

3. Goodbye roommates.

-Seriously, I won't miss you. Privacy here I come!

4. Goodbye noisy neighbors.

- No more hearing bed creaks or drunk idiots. Yay!

5. Goodbye RA floor meetings.

-Seriously, I could never make these anyway. And I hate being out of the loop.

6. Goodbye Desk staff.

- I will miss SOMETIMES being said hi to when I come home and having someone to vent to. But hey, I won't be judged when I do the walk of shame.

7. Goodbye community kitchens.

-People need to learn how to clean up after themselves. Plus, they are so far from your room its crazy. Not worth it.

8. Goodbye rules.

-If I want to have a wine night, I can have a wine night. No risk of getting kicked out now! Be as loud as I want, when I want.

9. Goodbye community bathrooms.

-HELLO PRIVACY AND NO PANTS

10. Goodbye, 2 AM fire alarms.

-Really? Grilled Cheese at 2 AM? Get to bed you stoner and order some pizza. Oh, and learn how to cook.

11. Goodbye burnt popcorn smell.

-Is microwaving popcorn really that hard??

12. Goodbye programs.

-Okay, I am gonna miss the free food. But not the weight that comes with eating all of the free food!

13. Goodbye to the friends I never made.

-I tried. BYE FAM. You're missing out.

14. Goodbye leadership activities.

-Two years running I was in hall council. I won't forget everything it taught me or all the memories.

15. Goodbye RAs.

-You were always there when I needed to talk. The counseling center is always full, and I knew I could rely on you. I will miss you.

16. Goodbye hard tiny mattresses.

-When my boyfriend would visit, we couldn't sleep. I can barely fit on these things!

17. Goodbye crappy wifi.

-You would think they would be able to provide better internet.

It's bittersweet in some aspects. In most, hello freedom! The residence hall experience is necessary. It is important to experiencing the culture on campus and getting the full experience.

But it's time to leave our first college nest. It's time to get some more responsibility and freedom.

Goodbye, to my residence hall. Thanks for all the memories. I will miss it.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
