On September 4, 2016 I moved into Conover Hall at Rider University with my best friend. On May 9, 2017 I'm moving back home.
This year was a whirlwind full of emotion, laughter, and tears. Living on my own was rewarding but tough. I managed my funds, did my own laundry, cleaned, killed bugs, and took a total of 10 college courses. I made friends, lost friends, and found my voice. Probably most importantly, I fell in love with my major just like I expected to.
I explored Lawrenceville late at night, ate dining hall food, and walked miles each day across campus. I went to parties and stayed in, but both gave me new experiences. I laughed with my friends till 3 AM and sometimes cried in my bed until then.
This year was hard but necessary. I was in a totally different environment. Although I'm still figuring out how to manage on my own, I'm proud of myself so far and I know I will only improve from here.
Here's to sophomore year, a year I want to be filled with laughs, new friends, rewarding classes, and love.
