Summer has and will always be my favorite time of year. I love everything about these short few months. The warm days that seem like they will never end, the fact that you don’t have the interruption of homework and, of course, that you get to see your friends all the time. This summer has given me so many memories I will treasure forever. Don’t get me wrong, I have had wonderful summers before, but what I failed to realize then was one day summers will end.
I’m sure one of the reason I enjoy summer so much is because I don’t have a real job. Yeah, you heard me right, I am fortunate enough to not have to get one yet. But that doesn’t mean I spend all my days bumming around. I babysit often and clean houses regularly, along with volunteering for different church activities. Anyway, I wanted to take the time and reflect on this summer before I got sucked back into the stresses of school. I was able to do some amazing things this summer from working camps to going to the beach and everything in between, I’ve loved every single moment of these hot days.
The majority of my time was spent with my best friend, I’m sure he can’t wait to go back to school so he doesn’t have to put up with me every day. But we had so much fun this summer hanging out at house, going to weddings and adventuring to the movies just about every Saturday. I am definitely not looking forward to saying goodbye in a few days.
Now, I don’t want you to think I only have one friend because I have a ton! This summer I found time to travel to Texas with Faith, go to the beach with Whitney, enjoyed a rodeo with Bailey, have a mini road trip with Sarah and go climbing with Catey. Not only did I enjoy the company of sweet friends, I also was given many opportunities to be a servant for the Lord. I worked with children’s camp, led a Bible study, taught third and fourth grade Sunday School, volunteered at Vacation Bible School and was a room leader at SOAR.
Now you see why I had such a bomb summer? I am so thankful for all the memories that were made and can't wait to see what the next summer holds!
