Live theater is one of the best activities to do over the weekend, especially if the show is outdoors. It is a great way to enjoy the company of your family or to plan a date. Many classic plays like "Macbeth" or "Wicked" may be shown in your local theater (depending on the city where you live). The best kind of theater is an outdoor theater in the summertime!

Big audience, small play, and the perfect setting outdoors at Forest Park.

The Shakespeare Festival St. Louis is one of the many theater companies in St. Louis who help the community and entertain them with their plays inspired and written by Shakespeare. Their mission is helping the community by encouraging people with their style of acting as a powerful tool for social change. In the streets, schools and parks, the Shakespeare Festival was recognized with the 2015 Arts & Education Excellence in the Arts Award, and it has become one of the finest cultural organizations in the city of St. Louis.

The Shakespeare Festival performs shows that don’t require you to buy a ticket to see. For the event this year, they did one of the classic plays of Shakespeare “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” This was a perfect play for the time of season and a great way to teach the children a classic play.

People relax in front of the stage waiting for the play to start.

People bring their own snack or dinner on a warm evening.

Shakespeare Festival also offers seats for people who have trouble sitting on the ground.
