I just want to go outside
Take a special someone and go for a ride
Around the island we go — catching sunsets; sunrises
Trying not to think about the virus
But I'm inside...inside
Talking with friends and we sigh
Talking about our escape plan
And so...we ran
Driving around blasting music all over town
Heading to the beach, up into the mountain before sundown
Laughing and crying, wishing we didn't need a mask to cover us when we're smiling
But we do and we won't let that stop us from our good vibin'
We made it
Curled up, sitting in the trunk, watching the sun sink into the ocean
Now we talk again, in-person this time about what could've been
Without quarantine, without anything
Had a lot of things to catch up on
Guys, whys, and advice
This went on for hours
Went home and closed my eyes
Thought about all the things I would do when the sun rose up again
Countless things I, we, could do on an island
But the only question is when?
It's been too long since quarantine started
And I don't know when it'll end
Though, whether I'm alone inside or adventuring outside
With the people I love most, there will always be good vibes
