This year has been... something. Between some uproarious elections and world crises, everyone is ready for this year to be done. It's been rough, but not fear not! I have compiled a list of (just a few) things that made this year okay.

You'll probably see a million of this same kind of article in the next couple weeks, and that's totally fine by me. Let's flood our news feeds with positivity, rather than with all the bad things that happened this year.

Things aren't all bad, I promise.

1. Giant pandas are no longer endangered

Look at this baby! We're happy for you, giant pandas.

Read more about it here.

2. A meme actually accomplished something

Remember the "Ice Bucket Challenge" that was making its rounds in late 2014? Well, with the money raised from the challenge, a gene that causes ALS was discovered-- a true breakthrough in the study of the deadly disease.

Read more here.

3. Volunteers in India planted more than 50 million trees in 24 hours

In an effort to implement "reforestation" and to fight climate change, more than 50 million trees were planted in India in just 24 hours this year. That's a pretty good thing, if you ask me!

Check it out right here!

4. The US Army began offering 12 weeks paid maternity leave

This is double the amount that they had been getting previously. And it's paid!

Take a look here.

5. People donated to Planned Parenthood in Mike Pence's name

And women everywhere laughed the entire time.

Read about it here.

6. Sweden literally ran out of garbage

Sweden is so good at recycling that they ran out of trash. Now they have to import it from neighboring countries, just so they can recycle more. Nice job, Sweden!

Check it out right here.

7. Dick Van Dyke promised to make an appearance in the remake of "Mary Poppins"

How can anyone not be excited?

(Also Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda will be in it. There is a God!)

Here it is.

8. Coffee consumption was proven to decrease suicide AND cancer rates

As if we weren't thankful enough for coffee.

Here are the facts!

9. Bob Ross finally got his spot on Netflix

Now you can see him make happy little trees as often as you want.

Read the article about his Netflix debut here.

10. Child mortality rates are down all over the world, and they keep decreasing

Enough said!

Check it out here.

There are so many other things that made this year half decent, too. In a year like the one we are wrapping up, it's easy to overlook the good. But, we have to keep these kinds of stories on our radar in order to move forward.

Don't let the bad things be forgotten, but don't forget that there is still good in the world, too.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
