There is a saying that "good things come to those who wait." And while that may be true, I believe those things are the leftovers from the ones who are go-getters.
The ones who not only take the extra inch but the extra mile (or two).
I like to think I am one of those people. One who no matter the task gives my 150%. Gives everything I have to make myself feel accomplish, and to help those around me.
There are times where being the hustler is exhausting. Like how I haven't slept in past 8 a.m. in almost a month because I put everything I have into my jobs, my classes, and my friends. But at the end of the day, I think it is all worth it. After all, I am setting myself up for success.
When you work as hard as you can, opportunities come at you. Some better than others, but most of them a learning experience. And it is an incredibly difficult thing to turn down one of these opportunities when you are someone like me. Someone who wants to put their all into everything.
So that is what I did. This summer, I was offered an amazing position at an organization on my campus. It so happened that this opportunity was something that I wanted to take my career into. I knew that I would want to put my all into it, but I had so much else on my plate.
After attempting to balance all my responsibilities, things came tumbling down. I wasn't able to put everything I had into my responsibilities, and I felt guilty. I had to move on from some of them, and wish them the best because I know good things come to those who go get them.
So with this, I say a farewell to Odyssey. A farewell to a space that gave me the opportunity of expression, creativity, and free-range. A farewell to an incredible experience that I will forever cherish. Farewell.
