Good news! Even in this crazy, messed-up world where sometimes all we seem to hear from news are the terrible, ugly, and horrendous events that come to be, there is still good news! So here are some stories that happened that may not be headline news, but is uplifting.
GOOD NEWS-Everyone Can Be A Superhero
A group of elementary school students in New York are designing capes for a homeless shelter in Michigan so that whoever dons the cape-whether it be a child or child-at-heart, can feel like a superhero. The larger initiative is called Capes for Kids, started by teacher turned non-profit founder Terry Grahl who wants to encourage those in seemingly hopeless situations to believe in themselves. GOOD NEWS-Paralysis Can't Stop This Woman From Walking
Stacy Kozel has been paralyzed from 2014, but that isn't stopping her from hiking the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail, a daunting task for anyone. She uses leg braces that help her with mobility as she hikes through the mountains from Georgia to Maine. No word on where she is at the moment, but with her averaging 20 miles a day she is likely already more than halfway through. You go, Stacy!
GOOD NEWS-San Fran's Going Green
That Styrofoam cup you used to hold your coffee this morning? It will be in a landfill long after you or your children pass away. This is the main reason San Francisco has recently passed legislation that will prohibit these products from the city, starting in 2017. This vote was unanimous and done in order to use materials that are more eco-friendly. Styrofoam is made of polystyrene foam, which disintegrates very slowly in landfills, takes centuries before it completely breaks down. 25 billion polystyrene cups are thrown away annually, and hopefully San Fran is the first of many to adopt this eco-friendly legislation. Saving the Earth, one cup at a time.
GOOD NEWS-Women Can Play Baseball, Too
Who said girls can't keep up with boys? Kelsie Whitmore and Stacy Piagno were recently signed to the minor league baseball team the Sonoma Stompers, making them the first women to be signed to a professional baseball co-ed team in the States in over 60 years. 25-year-old Stacy Piagno is a pitcher for the Stompers while 17-year-old Kelsie Whitmore is a left-fielder. Remind me, who run the world?
GOOD NEWS-This 1 Year Old is Cooler Than You
...I can't even. He is adorable. And already more talented than I am. What is life?

If we focused a little more on the good and a little less on the bad, dontcha think the world would become a better place?
As much as I would like to take credit for this idea I actually stole the premise from a wonderful noble land-mermaid and Youtuber by the name of Grace Helbig. Here is her amazing video that inspired this article, and has made me laugh countless times. You guys should watch it and like all of her other videos also (I would highly recommend her roast yourself challenge video also).
