According to Google, leadership is defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization. A leader sets examples in a leadership. Privilege can change what or how a leader is operated. There are pros and cons to managing a leadership when privilege is involved.

First impressions are important, but long-lasting impressions are hard to create. A long lasting impression is like a legacy, hard to create, but can be done.

Being under good leadership is someone taking the initiative to get a group together to take action. The keywords in that sentence were initiative and take. For example, a law was passed to let eighteen-year-olds can carry a concealed weapon.

This law upset a lot of people, so I gathered a group together to do a peaceful march against the matter to raise awareness. This example showed someone having an issue, finding other people with the same issue, and organizing a plan of action to help with the solution.

I plan to role model this behavior in my everyday life by standing up for what I believe. Even if it is small because you never know when being in the minority can make a big difference.

I plan to role model this behavior as a resident assistant by communicating with my residents and modeling authority behavior. If there is a problem a lot of people are having, we can discuss the issue as a floor to come up with a solution. Communicating with the residents is key to building relationships and creating a bond.

It would make me a good quality resident assistant because it would show I am relatable, keep my residents informed, and can stand my ground. The parts of my life I think my leadership impacts are how I carry myself because it makes me seem more confident in my opinion.

When I work in groups because I am very communicative in letting everybody know what they should do and/or how my part is coming along to complete the project. Some goals I have to better reflect and live my leadership definition day to day are to get as many leadership positions as possible, to set trends not follow them, and to take action when wrong is done.

Privilege changes what leadership looks like because privilege is something you are either born with or not, it is apart of how you portray yourself. Honestly, a lot of people do not think they have privilege or forget it is even there.

As a black individual, I do not have privilege, but as an American woman, I do. I am able to go to school and learn, which is a privilege considering some people do not have access to do that. I can use my privilege as a leader to ally with others by being understanding to the fact that everybody is different and we all do not have the same struggles or upcomings.

On issues only certain people would understand, I can be a relief. I observe others using their privilege as a leader by encouraging other people that are not in their position to push and strive to get in their position.

My perspective changed in the identifies activities by helping me to acknowledge the fact that a lot of people whether black, blue, white or orange have some the same struggles. Especially when I saw the poster that said, “ability” because sometimes I forget since I tore my ACL, I am not able to do things like running upstairs and walking long distances.

It helps me to stand on the saying never judge a book by its cover because someone may be smiling, but have been through the worst struggle and vise versa. Judging someone based on appearance, attitude, or actions will be choice I have tried not to make since this activity.

I hope to leave an extraordinary legacy as a campus leader at K-State, which might be wishful thinking. I want people to remember three major things about me. First, I had a dream to become a television show host and I conquer in doing so.

Second, I was hard working, had a sense of humor, and determined. Last, I was involved, if not leading, in making a difference on campus. Whether it be as small as planting a vegetable garden or as big as running for student body president.

I plan on creating this legacy by getting involved and volunteering in activities that would make me different and stand out. Also, by coming up with a ground plan for what and how I want my legacy played out.

My leadership aspiration fits into my legacy by helping me to stay determined, preparing me for usual tasks, and strengthen my communication skills. I aspire to be a television show host of my own show and beside the paper requirements of this job, it is personality traits. You have to possess a “zest” about you like being a great communicator, being a good storyteller, etc.

My leadership vision is broad for the future, but one small step for me is a gigantic step towards my future.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
