I have never understood why so many people (including myself) are afraid of change. Change is one of the most important aspects of life and everyone changes. Most of the time change is good, healthy, and crucial for growing up and maturing. It can actually be bad if things don't change and can negatively affect someone's life.
Something that has always bothered me is when people get angry or upset that you've changed. IT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. People live and learn, people make mistakes and they learn from them, and people mature. People change for so many different reasons such as just becoming more mature, starting to make better decisions, finding new interests, or experiencing life changing events. Lets think about it this way do you still act the same way or like the same things that you did in middle school? Sure you may still secretly love the Jonas Brothers, but you most likely have matured and changed as a person. Significant life changes also change a person like going away to college; I have changed as well as the majority of my friends. It is completely natural to change who you are in a new environment, with new people, and different expectations. There is a reason they say you find yourself in college, if you never change you'll never find who you are, what you want to be , and what you like to do. Something that also frustrates me is when people say that those in the public eye change. Think about it if you have people following you, taking pictures of you, judging you all over social media, and having a huge following don't you think that you would change? I know I would make drastic changes because it is a completely different lifestyle than the one I'm used to.
Please do no get me wrong, many people do not change for the better and some have changes that will negatively impact their lifestyle. I ti s a doubled edged sword. Earlier I talked about how people change in college, but many make bad changes that are negatively impacting their life. Sure you made a few bad decisions, but that doesn't mean you've completely changed into a bad person. Also if you have changed negatively you can change again and make better decisions, act differently, and change for the better. Since we are constantly changing this makes it easier to fix the negative changes to make them positive.
Something extremely important to remember as you change is to keep your morals, such as to always be kind, honest, and a good person. These morals will keep you on track to make positive changes. And if you find new morals you want to add because of your experiences then go for it, because sometimes change is good.
