On August 2nd, I finally finished my second round being an operations intern at a professional tennis tournament in my hometown.
Side note: I actually hate this job.
Side side note: I actually really like this job.
Throughout the past two years doing this job, it has given me a lot. Besides putting a little bit of cash in my pocket before Wake Forest snatches every penny like a slightly intoxicated Wake student grabs Subway at 2:30 a.m., it has given me an appreciation and a willingness to do the things I love.
Finding a job, (from what I've heard... I'm still unemployed @ all employers) that you love to do day in and day out is hard. You even hear stories of professional athletes and musicians who talk about how after a while, even their love for jobs some of us would kill for has dried up over the years
Do I hate waking up at the crack of dawn to run around, have orders barked at me, and take major L's like spilling a pan of pasta all over myself? Absolutely.
Do I love being around tennis, meeting fantastic people, and getting out of the house for once? Absolutely.
Part of life is putting up with the bad in order to enjoy the good.
Even after this job I still have some bad to go through. I get to sit around and do nothing for the next few weeks.
But the good? I get to see my best friends in a few weeks.
You can't truly enjoy the hot chocolate if you haven't been stuck out in a snowstorm.
