What do you get when you mix a loyal Golden Retriever and the brains of a Standard Poodle? A fluffy fun-loving Goldendoodle. These dogs are the trendiest things in the dog world and will be your best friend for life. In all honesty, they are more than just a dog...they are your human best friend.

After suddenly losing our Golden Retriever, we decided as a family that it would be too hard to get another one. It would feel like we would be replacing our amazing dog instead of honoring her and the memories we had. But, we did not want to give up the Golden Retriever breed completely. After doing some research, we came across a Goldendoodle breeder that did not live too far away. We then made the decision to invest in this unique breed and we definitely do not regret our decision. We got to follow the whole process from the birth of the puppies to the day we got to visit them and pick out our own. Now we could not imagine life without our doodle.

If you are looking for a new furry friend in your life or honestly just love dogs, here are the reasons why Goldendoodles are the actual definition of man's best friend.

1. Endless affection

Sure, every dog can great you when you come home by wagging their tail and giving you a nice slobbery kiss, but nothing is like being greeted by a goldendoodle. As soon as you walk in the door, you are presented with a face of a dog that looks like an odd combination of a build-a-bear and a muppet. How can you resist that?!

2. Cute obsessive behavior

If you know anything about the Golden Retriever breed, you know that as soon as they find something they are passionate about, they become obsessed with it. This could be anything from chasing squirrels to having an obsession with tennis balls that is so crazy that you have considered putting your dog on the show "Extreme Hoarders". Well, Goldendoodles are exactly the same way. My doodle has an obsession for finding and hunting lizards in our backyard and chasing cell phone lights.

3. Intelligence

These dogs are a lot smarter than you think. You could be having a conversation about how you went to the gym the other day and ran three miles on the treadmill and as soon as they hear the word "walk" they will begin to jump up and down and look for the leash.

4. Hypoallergenic

Hate dog hair? Allergic to dogs? Well, then these pups are the best for you. Due to their Poodle nature, these dogs will never shed a hair! Say hello to a clean house and goodbye to pet hair all over your black clothes.

5. More personality than your average dog

Goldendoodles sit like humans, have the same facial expressions as humans, and would probably eat like humans if they had thumbs. Hanging out with your dog would be like hanging out with your human best friend, maybe even better because these dogs rock.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
