There is sweat all over the body and some marks on the skin that burn and itch when you wake up in the morning. The first thing you see when you wake up is a ceiling fan, which has become a source of relief. There are various weird and unique things that can be seen on the street. Two cows are seen pulling a cart of hay, the street is filled with littered trash, and stagnant water can be seen in many places. This is the most common situation in present India, but it wasn’t always this way. India was nicknamed 'The Golden Bird'' in ancient times due to the wealth and prosperity in the country.
India is embodied with a treasure of varied cultures, languages, religions and sects. India has approximately 1600 languages and dialects, 9 recognized languages(. Ancient India was extremely rich and prosperous since the Indian trade market was flourishing. Before the British colonization, monarchy was predominant in India. There is evidence, derived from archaeological excavations, that indicate the riches that these kings possessed. As time passed, many invaders attacked India and took some of the wealth back to their home countries. This made India vulnerable to further exploitation, leading to the colonization by the British.
When India became independent from British colonization, it was composed of hundreds of different cultures and no set of rules or constitution to govern them. When the constitution was finally made, the main concept in it was "Unity in Diversity." This term implies that although India has various cultures and specific cultural guidelines, everyone is governed by a single constitution. In the recent past, India has made much progress and developments in all fields. The biggest problem faced by India currently is the amount of corruption.
But I hope someday India can be recognized as The Golden Bird again.
