8:45 pm - You and your girls decide that Thirsty Thursday wasn't enough, you're going out again and this time you swear three drinks is your limit.

8:50 pm - You blast music and get in your ratchet, slutty feels

9:00 pm - You start doing each other's makeup because of course your cut crease always turns out better on someone else.

10:10 pm - Now it's time to pick out an outfit, something flashy, but not trashy.

10:45 pm - It's time to touch up your makeup and you think you like this...

When in reality you look like this...

10:50P - pmGroup selfie! Captioned: "Tonight's gonna be liiiit *insert tongue emoji*"

12:15 am - A few drinks in and your squad is feeling great. Group choreography is on point and you've barely sweated off any makeup.

12:20 am - Then there's always that one friend who promises to be the mom...

1:35 am - And then, just when you thought the night couldn't get any better, your friend starts drunk complimenting you. (It's like a regular compliment, but better.)

1:40 am - But then the same friend kills the vibe by reliving an old text from her ex.

2:15 am - By this time, your clique is hungry AF and would do anything for some In-N-Out, BUT the only thing open is the 24hr pizza place...so you settle.

2:35 am - But right after you scarf it down, it all comes right back up.

3:00 am - You've made it back to the dorm and managed to make it past the front desk without getting written up or made to walk in a line.

3:15 am - You swear to each other that this will never happen again and then you knock out.

11:55 am - Others watching you binge on tater tots and donuts in the dining hall the next morning...

You swore you wouldn't do it again, but next Thursday rolls around and...

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
