The Things You Miss The Most From Home That You Rediscover Over Spring Break

Spring break can't come fast enough.

The only thing standing between you and spring break are 3 tests, 2 research papers, 1 group presentation and pointless activity worth 30 points of your grade. No big deal, right? It's been enough torture that your mind has been on break for the past two weeks, but nothing's as bad as having to really try hard the week before spring break. Can we go back to elementary school where all we did was paint and color the week before break? And draw pictures to take home to our parents. What happened to the good old times?

Spring break can't come soon enough. And I speak for every college student out there.

Here are things you're looking forward to the most if you're going to your hometown for the week of spring break.

1. Your bed.

Besides your family, this is the next most anticipated thing that gets you beyond hyped to go home. There's nothing like waking up in your bed from home on the first day of break wondering 1. where the heck you are and 2. why is this so much better/ more comfortable than my bed at school?

2. Good food.

No more plain pasta or ramen this week!

3. No homework.

This has pros and cons. Plus side is not using your brain for a week but once you get back it's like you've never used it before...which causes some major problems

4. Your dog.

Nothing beats a week of a doggo jumping up on you whenever you walk through the door. Despite your leggings covered in hair and you not being able to eat without someone hovering over you...it's worth it.

5. Hometown Friends

Cause nothing beats the friends you grew up with. S/o to them.

6. Getting to sleep in... as late as you want to

Not having those alarms go off at 6:45 a.m. is truly a blessing.

7. Wifi that doesn't constantly reset itself.

NO better feeling than walking into your front door and your wifi automatically connects. I'm home, everyone, I am home.

8. The gift of recording live TV

Missed "The Bachelor"? No problem, just record it. "This is Us" is on but you are busy? Who cares you can watch it tomorrow. That's the luxury of real TV when you are home.

9. Siblings

Although at times they get on your nerves, nothing beats having siblings to joke with on spring break. The only people you can be relentlessly honest with without hurting their feelings.

No matter how you chose to spend your spring break, in the end, it is halfway through the semester which means halfway to summer vacation and/or graduation... yikes.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
