As much as I say "I can't wait to be home" or "I can't wait to graduate to get out of here", I have to admit that I am going to miss Tallahassee. While Tallahassee doesn't even come close to in comparison to Miami, there are certain things that I'm going to miss about this city I was so lucky to call my home.
The distance from point A to point B.
The worst thing about living in a big city is the distances from point a to point b and the traffic. Miami has some of the worst traffic turning your ten-minute drive into thirty. Tallahassee is the complete opposite. Although it does have a little bit of traffic it doesn't compare to Miami's. Getting from point A to point B takes a maximum of twenty minutes. Since everything is close by, you have more time to accomplish everything you have to do.
$10 AYCD.
College students are always looking for good deals on just about anything and everything, and one of the best deals they can ever find is $10 all you can drink. It doesn't get better than that. $10 doesn't even get you one drink in Miami.
Tennessee Street.
Tennessee street has just about everything you can possibly need. There is a wide variety of restaurants one can choose from. You can find anything from gas stations, supermarkets, bars, etc.
Living close to campus.
One of my biggest pet peeves is having to spend twenty or thirty minutes circling the parking garage trying to find a parking spot. This semester I moved to an apartment building that's two minutes away from campus. By living so close to campus, I was able to get at least an extra hour of sleep every day and the stress of being late to class has completely disappeared.
Missing home.
This may sound a bit weird but I am going to miss, missing home. Living in Tallahassee, made me homesick, more than I would like to admit. I have always said that I wanted to live away from home, I wanted to live in a new city to experience new things and to be independent, and while I enjoyed my time away, missing home made me appreciate the things I have back home even more. Me missing Miami and my family made coming home that much more special. Being away has made me become even closer to family, and that is something I will forever be grateful for.
