Going Back To School, As Told By Michael Scott
Curiosodato

If you're anything like me, going back to school releases a smorgasbord of emotions inside you ranging from fierce excitement to absolute disgust. While there are some things I really enjoy about returning to school, there are other things I could definitely do without. Here are 15 things I think each time school starts back up again.

1. Oh crap, it's August. School is just around the corner.

2. I should probably order my books now. So. Many. Books.

3. WHY ARE BOOKS SO EXPENSIVE? I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS RIGHT NOW. I'M JUST A POOR COLLEGE KID.

4. Do I really need to finish my degree? There are so many other options open to me. I could become a writer. Or a professional dog walker. Or a magician. Who doesn't like magic?

5. Okay, focus. School isn't that bad. Campus life is actually kind of nice if you stop and think about it.

6. You can meet a lot of new and interesting people.

7. You have the freedom to stay up late hanging out with those kids down the hall you just met. Anyone up for a nonsensical game that only you guys know the rules to?

8. Also, you get to see all the friends you haven't been able to see in three months. Hello, happy reunion!

9. Of course, that means being a part of all your friends' crazy ideas.

10. Or choosing to ignore them and do your own thing (even if it's not much better).

11. But college isn't all fun and games. You have to go to class and do homework. So much homework.

12. You'll have group projects to do (most likely with people who don't cooperate or are impossible to get in touch with outside of class.)

13. You might get stuck with a roommate you really don't like.

14. Or you could just be surrounded by a bunch of noisy hall mates.

15. But when it's all over you'll get your degree and it will all be worth it. Right?

I'm sure, like me, many of you received lots of gift cards over the holidays. After working retail seasonally, here are a few tips that I learned in order to make the employees at your favorite store just a little happier and not want to charge you extra on your purchase for being awful. Here are some times when you should be nicer to retail workers than you actually are!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
