Brokenhearted: Overcome by grief or despair
In terms of feelings, it is hard to find one worse than the feeling of a broken heart. It's that feeling where your heart is in your stomach, you are nauseated, the tears just flow out of your eyes, and nothing feels okay in the world. You ugly cry. You struggle to eat. You dread being alone because you know your mind is ready to tear you apart. It's sickening, it's debilitating, and it seems nearly impossible to overcome.
During this time, it is vital that you remember what God has said to you, what God desires for you, and what God has promised you.
This is what the good Lord has to say about your broken heart. This is what He has promised you.
"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit." -Psalm 34:18
God is with you at all times, and He is especially near to you during this painful time you are experiencing. And not only is He right there with you, He has big plans of saving you from this, and bringing you through it. He wants to walk beside you. He wants to carry you. He wants to hold your hand through this entire situation, and deliver you from this pain to a better life. He wants to help you through this into a world of blessings.
All you have to do is simply allow Him to be there. Do not turn away from God in your pain. Do not run from the hand He is offering you. Do not be mad at God because you are experiencing pain, but be joyful that He is willing and ready to make it better.
Remember something else that God has promised you.
"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" -Jeremiah 29:11
God only wants the best for you, and He only has good things for you. He has said that to you and He means it. You may not be able to see it yet, you may not even see a spark of light at the end of the tunnel, but you can rest in the peace of knowing that good things are coming.
Be patient in waiting for God's perfect timing to heal you, be peaceful in knowing that blessings and healing are on their way, and be restful in the Lord, allowing Him to walk beside you, on your way to the greatness that He has for you.
