Letter To My Godson

You will always be loved and I want you to know that.

Letter To My Godson
Personal

Spence Axle,

I remember the day that your Mom called and told me that she was going to be a Mom. My heart sunk, I couldn’t believe it. Throughout her pregnancy we couldn't wait to find out what gender you were going to be. I wish you could have seen your mom pregnant with you. Daddy going to get her food 24/7, plates of food later and swollen to the max feet she was ready to have you.

On June 6, 2016, I didn't know I was going to be honored in meeting you. But a precious child was born—you. Being at the hospital and holding you, made everything feel real. Looking at you and holding you that day made everything reality. I just took one look at you and realized that you are so innocent and pure. I couldn't wait to watch you grow and learn.

I can’t wait to hear your first words, see your first steps, watch your first sporting event and the list goes on. (Dad wants you riding dirt bikes, NOT HAPPENING LOL) For you to be able to ask mom and dad to have a sleepover at my house because I obviously spoil you. Give you ice cream before bed, let you stay up past your bed time, play board games and sugar you up before I give you back to them.

Even though I'm going to spoil you to the max I also what the best for you. No matter what I will always be your side through everything. Bad grades or heartbreak, which won’t happen till your about 30 years of age. I will make sure of that! Always, be the leader and never a follower. Everyone is born to stand out. Kids may bully you in school, pick you last for kickball, call you names and throw things at you. I just want you know, this is life. Do what’s best for you and not because everyone else is doing it. Life is full of problems, but just remember God has a plan for you.

Life is going to be hard and a lot of things are going to be thrown your way. But I want you to know no matter what you will always be loved, cared for and have a special place in my heart. You will never be looked at differently no matter. You have an incredible mom and dad, family and friends, that love you so much. Remember we all want the best for you. So, do not doubt for a minute that we want to see you fail.

As your Godmother, my job is to protect and love you always. So you may get sick of me telling people how amazing you are. Showing them pictures of you, explaining how perfect you are or telling them how your the cutest kid in the world. I will be there to support you through all your endeavors.

Your too young to know the amazing impact you have had on my live in these four months. Even on my worst days, I just look at pictures of you and my mood automatically changes. Obviously for the better.

Can’t wait to watch you grow into the best version of yourself!

Love you

Always and Forever,

Aunt KarKar

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
