It took me over 23 years to realize that God is with me, I grew up Catholic and went to college in Dillon. My first year at Dillon I tried the Catholic Church there and just didn’t really enjoy it at all. Then I stopped going to church, stopped believing in God all together, until towards the end of my sophomore year of college.

This is when I had a friend tell me to check out this church called the Vineyard, It was a non-denominal Christian church, so I thought why not check it out. I went to church and instantly fell in love with it, the church community was so welcoming to newcomers I have been going to church every Sunday that I can. I have never been so happy that I listened to one friend and instantly fell in love with this church and soon started to realize that there is a God out there, he is here to listen to you, here to listen to let you lean on him and just scream out to him if you must.

Your life may be falling apart, your family may be falling apart and not believing in you or in your dreams, but just because your life is falling apart doesn’t mean you stop believing in the man above. He always believes in you and always will. You don’t need to prove God wrong because he already knows you’re going to pursue your dreams.

I know that it may have took me 23 years to believe in God, but now that I do believe in him I know for a fact that no matter what happens in my crazy life he will be here for me and I will never stop believing in God, I love going to a church that is non denominal and that accepts me for me. Thank you to everyone who has and continued to believe in me, especially you God.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
