God Has A Plan for You

Before I begin or go any further in this article I want you to know that God has a plan for you! Yes YOU, the one reading this. Despite how you may feel or what you think, know that you are not here by mistake. Many of us are in the process of finding ourselves, who we truly are, what we like/dislike, and our purpose in life. My only goal by the end of this article is to push you and encourage you to keep moving forward. For some, aspirations and visions are more clearer to others. They may come quicker to others than some but do not let that discourage you form still trying to figure out what you were born to do. If you're not in school and are working, I advise you to try different things; see what peaks your interest and what does not. Don't be afraid to take yourself out on a date. The purpose of this is to simply learn more about yourself. What are you passionate about? What do you enjoy doing in your free time? i.e reading, writing, drawing, singing, learning? What motivates you? What keeps you up at night? Most likely whatever this is this IS WHAT you need to be doing. If your thing is helping people, doing hair, playing video games, cleaning, debating ....So be it because you can make a career out of anything. Do not ever let people tell you you CAN'T because YOU CAN. I believe your purpose is in whatever your are passionate about! You may have the next revolutionary cleaning service, be a philanthropist, game creator, or radio host. In your times of wanting to give up, remember to look to the hills because that is where your help comes from. Trust that God has a plan for you. You not useless or taking up space. Don't be ordinary be extraordinary. Be yourself and stop trying to fit in with the world's standards and America's box because the plan God has for your is so much greater! Know that it is going to blow your mind once it comes to fruition. Trust the process. The journey you are on must be a journey of faith. Keep believing, keep hoping, and keep pursing. Know that each step is taking you towards your destiny!!!

Jeremiah 29:11-14 NLT

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. " They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you, "says the Lord. "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
