God's America

No matter what happens, this is still God's America.

God's America

We're one day away from the biggest, craziest and most talked about election that anyone can remember. It's a hot topic right now, and it's so easy to get pulled into all things political. However, this election is not the most important event that will occur in our lives. That will be the day when Jesus comes back, or judgement day.

At this point, hopefully, we've all done our research to decide which candidates are the best fit. We've watched the news, debates, and political rallies time and time again to prepare ourselves for Election Day. By now everyone's minds should be made up on who we will vote for. It makes me wonder how many of us prepare like this for judgement day. Do I read and study my Bible all the time to prepare myself? Do I talk to my friends every day about God? Have I completely chosen that Jesus Christ is the one I will serve? Or do I teeter back and forth between serving God and the devil? If we should ever talk about and prepare for anything in this world, it's definitely judgment day.

None of us know when Jesus will return. We may die before then, or we may not. It could be tomorrow or it could be thousands of years away. We don't know, and that's why we should prepare. Tomorrow after the election results are announced, my normal life will resume. God still expects you and I to be the same Christians serving him as we were the day before. He expects us to show love and respect to everyone, and that includes our new president and other elected officials whether we like them or not.

There's a movie out now titled, Hillary's America. This is funny to me because even if she wins, it will not be her America. The president does not own this country. The president does not control all things in this country. All of that is in God's control. No matter what happens, this is still God's America. We may have evil running rampant, but God is in control, and he can bring it to an end at any point. This world could be gone in a second if God chose to take it away. God is in control now, and he always will be. We cannot always fully understand his plan, but we have to have faith that he will work everything out for the best for us.

So for this election, do your part. Pray fervently about it, and then go vote. But always remember, there's a more important day coming. We have this time here on earth to make up our minds to serve God. When judgement day comes, it will be too late. God gives us the time and resources to know his word and know what to do. If you're reading this, and you don't know how to become a Christian, pick up a bible and read. Send me a message. Talk to someone who does know. Just do something to take action. On that day, every single person in the world will confess that Jesus is Lord, no matter what you've done and believed during your lifetime. Prepare. Don't be the one who waited too late.

“that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:10-11‬ ‭

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
