College is tough. We all know it. Between late night studying, four exams crammed into one week, maintaining a healthy social life, trying not to gain forty pounds, and never catching up on sleep, things can get pretty stressful and scary sometimes. We become homesick and miss our moms and home cooked meals. But through all the highs and lows I've experienced during my last four years of college, one thing has always stood true. And that is The Lord. He is always there for me and verses from His Word always comfort me and hold me close. There is a bible verse for just about every situation we face in college...so here they are:

When you're drowning in school and you don't know where to turn:

Psalm 121:2 - My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth

When you feel like a loser who can't do anything right:

1 Corinthians 1:27 - But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

When you feel judged and persecuted by those around you:

2 Corinthians 4:18 - So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

When you groan because you're awake at 4:30 am again and you really need to just sleep for one solid night:

Proverbs 3:24 - When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

When you have no idea what your purpose is, what your major should be, and what you're doing with your life:

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. (my favorite!!)

When your life feels out of perspective and you don't know where you're headed:

Matthew 6:33-34 - Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

When you're just having the greatest week ever and you need to thank the One who makes it possible:

Psalm 136:1 - Give thinks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.

When you think you know it all, but your plan miserably fails:

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

When you need strength or are thankful for the strength that you have:

Philippians 4:13 - I can do everything through him who gives me strength

Thank you My Lord for being by my side these past four years, and I can't wait to see where the next four take me!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
