Your Weakness Does Not Define You

Lean in and let God be your strength.

Your Weakness Does Not Define You
2 Corinthians 12:9 - "And he said unto me, 'My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

Let's be honest - we as Christians seem to struggle a lot. We struggle with sin, with anxiety, with depression, and even with how we steward money. But one truth remains: despite our struggles, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. It's not the fact that we don't believe this statement - it's the fact that we lose hope in ourselves and in turn lose hope in the redemptive work of Christ.

In order to believe this truth, we must lean into God as the One who sets us free. We have to learn to take God at His word. True faith is found in what we cannot see. Just as we want to grow constantly, so also we must learn to exercise our faith so that it may become more than a mustard seed.

So today, sons and daughters, lean into the truth of Christ as our Redeemer. Although you feel weak, it does not mean that you are. And Christ does not see you as weak - He sees you as someone who has the power of Christ living within them. It is Christ dwelling within that gives power to overcome all weakness. Stay strong and have faith in the God who sets His people free.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
